The Adobe Reader program is a free PDF file reader that enables you to view, print and collaborate on PDF documents. If your PDF files are too light to read, use Adobe Reader's Accessibility features to darken your PDF files by adjusting the color on the pages' background and the document text itself. Download and install Adobe Reader on your computer (see Resources), then launch the program.
Tired of the white background on PDF documents? Add some color! These simple instructions show you how and it will work on earlier versions up to Adobe Reader X (10).
Click “Edit” on the menu bar and select “Preferences” from the drop-down menu. Click on the “Accessibility” hyperlink on the left pane of the interface window. Under Document Colors Option, tick the check box next to Replace Document Colors and the radio button next to Use High-Contrast Colors. Click the drop-down arrow next to High-Contrast Color Combinations and choose one of the color combinations. Alternatively, tick the radio button next to Custom Color and choose a color for the Page Background and the Document Text to darken light PDF files. Click the 'OK' button to view the PDF file.
If needed, continue making further changes to the High-Contrast and Custom Color options to make the document easier to read.
Site reports the following on the red printing problem: 'This works. Click on the print icon. Click on 'advanced'. Select 'output'. Check the box 'print as image'. I suggest to leave it at 300 dpi, otherwise it might take a long time. It will print properly.
You can also save it as a named custom set to make this persistent. For now this is an acceptable workaround. Other settings such as changing to postscript level 2 or setting the color management to 'same as source' will not help.
Please note I have submitted this problem to HP as case, but after it was sent to hp mac support there has been no further response.'
